Keepin' up with us

Here I am with time to reminisce about our past year.
Fall Break is a lovely time to play in the leaves.

 Gabey was Pooh for halloween.
Ollie was a hot car guy?

My mom came to visit around fall break. We look like hell in this picture. My mom looks good, though. That was an extremely busy time for everyone. With my mom, we made cookies, went on a "nature party" to sundance, went to the park, and generally had a nice visit. She always helps so much when she comes.

Kelly came to visit Utah. What a couple of cuties.
Greg came to visit:

There was a period of time there during Oliver's student teaching and general chaos of life when we didn't have time to get the mail for several weeks. lol. Then we did:
Not everyone was feeling the stress of business, though:
During Christmas break, we enjoyed our time in Chico. Dad and I won a pretty significant game in the pinochle tournament. It was a big come back, so we took a pic of us with the winning score sheet:

Gabe STILL talks about his snowman cake every time the word birthday comes up, and sometimes even with no provocation. Greg made it for him:

My beautiful sisters in law and I went on a holiday date to Gardner Village to shop and eat.

Spring time found us exploring lots of new activities around the area to keep us busy and happy.
We went to the Bridal Veil waterfall a few time:
We went to the aquarium.

Gabe decided to take his baby and stroller everywhere:

Gabe and Josie decided to break the world record for cutest cousins:

We went to hang time jump place a few times.

We went to Hee Haw Farms.

we went to the BYU bean museum and creamery:

we hiked (about half) of the Y:
we watched the Oscars with the fam:
Gabe and Josie tied up the phone lines:
we took many trips to barnes and noble:
(pic of ollie and g reading)

ollie joined a band. What a hottie:

we got a 3 month pass to the Provo Rec center so that we could play in their waterslide/pool area in the colder months. How cute is Gabe's pass?

We made an impromptu trip to Chico when my Grandma Drummond died.
Gabe liked staying at the Nugget on our way out:

My beautiful friend Alisa took this family picture for us after the funeral:

 more about funeral

Gabe painted a lot:
and his favorite toys continued to be his princess castle, figures, and horses:

I went to visit Greg. We went to Chico for a few days. We painted in the park:

 and hiked by the ocean:
Micheal came to visit:

gabe drew his first person. Guess where? Ollie's new classroom!!! Yep, my lovey got himself a job teaching 4th grade. He is going to help a lot of kids.

summer lovin' 2014

This is me now trying to remember the details of summer 2014 because I didn't keep up, but I did take pics, so here are some highlights.

In May, Emmy came to visit and go to women's conference. One of my favorite things we did was hike the Y with Melanie. I remember that they were so nice and encouraging even though I was having to take a lot of breaks. And on the way down, well anyone who has ever hiked with me can attest that I am irrationally afraid of slipping and careening to my death on the way down. I might be the only person in the world who prefers hiking up than down. So, we all 3 held hands and played a game of question 1-10 where someone posed a question and you rated your answer on a scale of 1-10.  I felt so happy.
We also played a lot of Mario and gave each other pep talks and lots of compliments so that we would play our best:) Em and Mel are such fantastic girls.

I was able to attend several SAGE meetings. They were very interesting and made me feel important and businessy cuz we met at hotels and sometimes they even put me up in the hotel and gave us food. That's how I found myself in Park City for a few days with nothing to do (after the meetings). I walked all around town and explored.

Oliver won tickets to Goo Goo Dolls from a radio station. It was a fun concert, and even though we had seats up front, we ended up going out on the lawn toward the end to sway. Daughtry was an opener and he was impressive and also short.

A really fun date night was paint nite. An instructor taught us step by step how to make these paintings. We felt pretty artsy.

Of course, we made our annual pilgrimage to California. We went to Modesto where we:
had some classic back yard nakie fun with the hose.

and had one of granny abbott's famous dance parties:)
We went to Chico where I cannot remember a single thing we did, and Oliver and I took a getaway to Santa Cruz:

Good Stuff

Christmas is coming and that means that Gabey baby is almost 1 year old. A more beautiful child has never walked the earth. He also has impeccable table manners.

Here are some pics of the changes we made to the house.
First, gabe’s room. I made the animal paintings. Love them. Gabe is slowly but steadily attempting to consume/destroy his crib.

We made a questionable choice on the color for the living room. We immediately regretted it but are too lazy to repaint. So now we are letting it grow on usJ

A while back we had a great weekend wherein we celebrated the advent of fall with a trip to a farm

A trek up the canyon to look at pretty leaves
